Dr. DeWayne Cuffie joins Alabama Goodwill Industries

Alabama Goodwill Industries is pleased to announce that, after a nationwide search, Dr. DeWayne Cuffie has been selected as the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Cuffie brings more than sixteen years of Goodwill leadership experience across Orlando, Baltimore, Buffalo, and Augusta. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Mission Integration Officer for Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, leading donated goods operations, workforce development, mission integration, administration, and government contracts.

He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership and Development from Johnson University, an MBA from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Jacksonville State University, where he was captain of the football team.

A man of deep faith, Dr. Cuffie views his leadership as part of his calling to live out Jesus’ command to love and serve people. He officially began his tenure with Alabama Goodwill on September 1, 2025.

Under Dr. Cuffie’s leadership, Alabama Goodwill will pursue a bold vision: to build people—who in turn bring God’s goodness into their communities.

This vision includes expanding workforce development, strengthening partnerships, embedding mission into every store and team member, and growing Goodwill’s economic engine to fuel greater impact across Alabama.

The Board of Directors is confident that Dr. Cuffie’s experience, faith, and servant-leadership approach will guide Alabama Goodwill into a new era of growth and transformation.
