Transforming Lives

Jose faced unemployment after suffering an injury that limited his mobility and made it difficult to perform In his job operating a forklift. Goodwill was able to give him a second chance at employment. His job security and the support he has received from the Goodwill team has helped him regain confidence, and Jose credits the Goodwill team in helping him constantly strive for self-improvement. He is now 8 years sober and able to provide for his family.

Rosa, Goodwill Industries of Dallas (TX)

Rosa had taken responsibility for caring for her five grandchildren, who no longer had contact with her daughter. However, despite already being actively employed, Rosa struggled to support her family as the sole provider. Looking to find a better opportunity to provide for her family, Rosa turned to Goodwill. Working at Goodwill has allowed her to support her grandkids and still spend time with her family.

Cesar, Goodwill of Colorado

After emigrating from El Salvador in 2000, Cesar followed his family to Colorado. When he joined the commercial laundry team at Goodwill of Colorado, he developed deep friendships and advanced into roles with more responsibility. Today, Cesar is the site manager for the custodial team at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and he visits his home in El Salvador as frequently as he can.
